About Union

“You have filled Jerusalem with his teaching.”

Union started in January 2025 as a ministry of Calvary Hill Baptist Church, with a mission of building Christlike communities and a vision of a world filled with the teaching of Jesus. We’re inspired by the first church in the book of Acts, where believers met for worship and house to house, spreading the gospel to the point where a high priest exclaimed in frustration: You have filled Jerusalem with his teaching!

We Find inspiration in that statement of opposition.

What if our hearts, homes, neighborhoods, and spheres of influence were filled with the teaching of Jesus? What if, just as his teaching spread from Jerusalem to the nations in the first century, it spread from Northern Virginia to the ends of the earth in the twenty-first century? To pursue that vision, we build Christlike communities in two ways: in larger corporate worship and smaller community groups. 

Two Wings

Worship and Community

In worship, we hear the word of God preached; encounter God in prayer and song; celebrate Baptism and communion; and experience mid-sized community. Although corporate worship is essential, for us, it is the beginning of discipleship, not the end. Smaller community groups (<15 people) are also essential. In the small group, everyone has a chance to speak his mind, give and receive personal prayer, and participate in group evangelism.
